At the Berenson Allen Center for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation: • Functioned as the primary clinical research assistant for PI Dr. Mouhsin Shafi, M. D., Ph.D.’s study that explored the relationship between cortical hyper-excitability, abnormalities of brain network function, and cognitive dysfunction in patients with MCI or early AD and whether administration of anti-epileptic medications, such as Levetiracetam, normalizes these measures and improves cognition. Supervised by Dr. Stephanie Buss, M.D. • Independently administered transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) study protocol with simultaneous EEG.• Collected and analyzed ERP and TMS-EEG recordings from healthy younger and older adults participants, patients with MCI/AD, patients with Epilepsy, patients with a history of Delirium and patients with TBI.• Administered a neuropsychological battery for healthy and MCI/AD participants 50-90 years old.• Determined patient eligibility according to protocol guidelines through assessing the research subjects’ medical record. • Recruited, screened, discussed informed consent and enrolled research subjects in multiple research studies. Scheduled appointments and follow up tests. • Ordered study drug from manufacturer • Prepared reports and documents to send to the Institutional Review Board.• Assisted in training new hires in running TMS research protocols and neuropsych testing.• Attended weekly Cognitive Neurology Grand Rounds and CNBS Lab Meetings.
