As the content creator, social media manager and writer to the blog, DIY Darling, I strive to entertain, educate, and inspire others to design their dream lives on a dime. Starting as a passion project and eventually leading to multiple revenues of business opportunities, I have two main focuses. One is decorating for clients, teaching them how to incorporate their own style into their home, or researching and testing products for brands to then write copy to reach a broader audience. As the writer for Tastemade's DIY & Design book, Weekend Refresh, I collaborated directly with the publisher, Clarkson Potter, to deliver a 30,000-word manuscript. By displaying a strict self-starter discipline, I was able to hit every internal deadline and reached all set milestones on schedule. As a content creator, on-set stylist, and on-camera host for Tastemade's Weekend Refresh series on IGTV, I had the pleasure of working on short-form videos that showcased room makeovers for millennial and Gen Z spaces. The majority of videos collaborated with sponsors, such as Home Depot, Amazon, and Behr. Pre-production began with working closely with producers and other department heads towards a design that fulfilled the creative brief. Budgets ranged from $2000-$10,000 depending on the project, and one aspect of my role was overseeing sourcing, buying and budget management leading up to the shoot. This process typically took three to six weeks. In addition to being in front of the camera on filming weeks, as Head of the Art Department I managed a team of 4-8 set dressers and production assistants over the course of each 12 hour shoot day. Nothing was as satisfying as collaborating with the crew to bring the original vision to life. Viewership per episode is around 1+ million views on average.

I worked with the producing team as an office production assistant on a feature length documentary with Disney+ and Pixar called A Spark Story. My roles included assisting pre-production with scheduling and logistics leading up to production weeks, and working closely with the Covid Compliance Officer to ensure a safe crew and filming environment. I assisted the Line Producer with travel arrangements, call sheets, and post-production document organization.Supper Club is an award-winning independent production company that is known for producing non-scripted entertainment that is elevated and thought-provoking.

Working in the fast-paced environment of a casting office was a huge learning experience. As a session runner for daily casting sessions, I organized actors upon arrival and coordinated with the casting director to stick with the schedule of audition appointments. Additionally, I produced coverage for 25+ scripts being considered for production. Phone etiquette was a crucial element to my daily tasks, with professional conduct being of paramount importance. Hosting VIP clientele in the office prior to the start of meetings was also a part of my job.

As an office assistant intern in a successful talent management company, I had the opportunity to get a glimpse of what it really takes to get talent seen by casting offices and producers, and the cut-throat nature of procuring jobs for clients. Daily, I was in charge of directing phone traffic to proper managers and drafting auditions, meetings, and appointment memos per the junior managers requests to communicate with talent. Additionally, I assisted clients with self-tapes by running camera and acting as a reader.

Assisting the lead stylist for the "200 Spectrum Day in the Life" industrial commercial for Idea Hall meant I was in charge of wardrobe for 30+ extras. I assisted in sourcing and organizing wardrobe options, including tracking receipts. Leading up to the shoot week, we coordinated fittings with all lead talent, a total of 6 hero characters.

As a casting intern in a busy office during pilot season - one of the busiest times of the year - I acclimated quickly to the fast-paced environment. As a session runner during casting sessions, I hosted actors in the waiting room, as well as organized headshots and resumes for hundreds of submitted/potential actors. Additionally, I read all scripts for upcoming episodes to familiarize myself with the material. Quick learning and high retention was key for phone calls.
