Job duties were conducting safety meetings, field audits, filling out LPO forms, putting together safety plans, and working on SOJCs. I

We are responsible for several important tasks each day. Depending on what is asked of me by the supervisor, I will do General Bay Service or complete various projects. Staying logged into whatever task I am assigned to in my first phone is important to track my time utilization accurately. Quality General Bay Service is intricate as it cleans up the Bays for our customers, stocks the Bays with product, and makes everything look presentable. When I do projects, it is also very important because projects usually update the Bays with new product and assign the new product to new locations in the store that can easily be found in the first phones.

Working freight for the garden department, Safety checklist, Bay sweeps, unloading trucks, packing down grills and mowers are all tasks I had to complete on a daily basis working in the garden department. I would arrive at work at 5:00am and complete the safety checklist walk and start cleaning up the aisles and and checking for safety hazards in the overheads and on the floors. When that was complete, I would go outside and sweep the designated fertilizer bay and log it into the sweep book. Next, I would wait on customers and work any left-over freight. If the mower and grill aisles were low on stock, I would take pallets down with the reach-truck, or get down single boxes with the order picker and pack down the bays. Often times I would get on the forklift and unload pavestone and mulch trucks, or even load customers' trailers with whatever was needed.

Unloading trucks, putting freight onto carts, and stocking shelves were the main priorities to this job. We also were required to put overstock into the overhead using different machines. When all the freight is worked, we take pride in doing quality bay directed pack down. This is when we look at what product is missing on the shelves and locate the product in the overheads and bring it down to fill the holes ob the shelves. Bay directed pack down is extremely important because it generates more sales which makes us more money. I was recently promoted to freight team coach, which means I train new hires and mentor them on how to effectively get the job done.

I worked this job during the summer before classes started up again. My duties were managing the inventory through the computer, helping load foremen's trucks in the mornings with requested inventory, unloading trucks and stocking shelves using the forklift. Often times I would go to job sites to assist foremen to install sprinkler systems. All sprinkler systems are different, and I learned that following safety procedures is extremely important when installing sprinkler pope in the ceilings of tall buildings.
