Research Assistant in The Shepard Lab at Georgetown University.- The Shepard lab is interested in understanding the physiological functions of sensory receptors in non-sensory tissues.- Our lab is investigating the ligand profile, signaling mechanisms, and physiological function of orphaned G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) such as GPR17, GPR137, and GPR125 (ADGRA3) in hepatic, renal, and lung tissues.- Our Lab is working to create a more accurate mouse model for female type I diabetes utilizing the chemical 4-OH, as well as studying the physiological pathways of 4-OH in kidney beta cells.

The only one selected from a cohort of around 115 Human Biology students to have the opportunity to mentor incoming Human Science freshman. The role includes holding weekly review sessions of lecture material, exam preparation sessions, and personal tutoring of the rigorous anatomy and physiology curriculum.
