I have been working as an industrial mechanic since September of 2010 as an apprentice with the Millwrights Union Local 2736 and obtaining my red seal certification in 2013. Having been in the industry for 14 years now, I have gotten to see the large move towards safety in the industry, also the focus on collaboration between workers and supervision to identify hazards that can be mitigated to complete our projects as safely as possible.I began a foreman position while contracting in 2015 with Voith Hydro until I started working full-time at Teck Highland Valley Copper in Logan Lake in 2018. I quickly began filling in as a relief supervisor for Teck from 2018-2021, I have now stepped into the position as a full-time shift supervisor in June 2021.I now managed the day to day tasks of 13 tradespeople working a 4x4 schedule of 2 days & 2 nights. We complete our full Auto Mill, SAG Mill, and Ball Mill relines on schedule and on time. Also we complete rebuilds on three 60x89 Allis Chalmer Gyratory Crushers, two FLSmidth Raptor XL900 Cone Crushers and all conveying systems on site ranging from 12"-96" belting. Pumping systems we manage range from 2x3 GIW's up to our 16x18 GIW's for the Mills.
