ENGINEERING: I was hired as a part-time engineer and subsequently earned full-time position with a start-up company focused on solar-based, sustainable manufacturing products. I assist with part production activities and multiple day-to-day projects, including initiatives to develop plastic shredding device. Additionally, I was tasked with helping the lead engineer in designing and building 2 axis-rotating armature. I prototype new ideas at the facility to determine their viability, assist in building all new products, and help write algorithms used by software engineers.INTERPERSONAL: I assist with on-site presentations to customers, and communicate with existing and future customers to troubleshoot issues or respond to inquiries. I monitor part-time subcontractors to ensure they have the proper information and are completing tasks according to customer requirements. I also interact with overseas manufacturing companies to ensure accuracy and product quality. I am proud to have:❖Designed, developed, and prototyped low-cost shredding device that operates on solar power and works effectively alongside the company’s solar molding systems to recycle post-consumer waste into future batches of production plastic parts (company is currently fielding requests for device purchases).❖Reduced number of customer complaints substantially by eliminating prior errors with heliostatcalibration (while freeing up time for engineers to develop new products). Created device that could be mounted to the heliostat, determine current location/heading, and self-calibrate the heliostat.❖Researched and identified 2 alternative versions to replace unreliable mechanical limit switches on heliostats, with projected benefits including dramatic improvements on heliostat reliability and lifespan as well as decreased assembly times.

I ensured attentiveness and focus of other lifeguards, and acted as the first contact with individualsarriving to the area as well as the primary first responder for emergencies. I delivered instruction toindividuals of all ages. Among my accomplishments:❖Implemented safety improvements on the pool deck to prevent injury and taught 100s of childrenswimming skills that included safety techniques. Earned 6 American Red Cross Certifications.
