As a high schooler, I was always in search of alternative ways to make money that fit my schedule. My solution was to start a small pressure-washing business. The summer before I left to attend the University of San Diego, I had a client base of over 70 local households and businesses. Through these experiences, I was able to gain invaluable communication and standard business practice skills at a young age.During my first semester at USD, a colleague and I participated in the 2023 Fowler Business Concept Challenge where we pitched the concept for our app, JuniorJobHunt. Out of over 100 competing teams, we took home 1st place in the competition along with $15k in seed funding. Validating the concept, we began to move forward with development. Currently, we are in the process of launching JuniorJobHunt. In the early stages of product development, JuniorJobHunt locally connects youth with adults in order to facilitate gig economy commerce. Daily tasks as simple as grocery shopping or furniture assembly are great opportunities to support a young adult looking to make some money, and a great way to take some stress out of your day. Our double-sided platform enables young adults to showcase skills and gives busy adults the untapped network to outsource tasks to local youth. Offering flexible work options to youth and aiding busy adults and seniors, JuniorJobHunt fortifies communities, empowers young entrepreneurs, and furthers neighborhood resilience. Today I am studying as a Sophmore at the University of San Diego, working towards the successful launch of JuniorJobHunt and my BA in Business Analytics/Marketing.
