As of now, I am a senior at Rutgers University as a public health major and a biological sciences minor. I have a strong passion of my current major because it is not just understanding why providers do what they do, but how the healthcare system as a whole affects the community. In the future, I hope to apply to Physician Assistant School in hopes to work in communities with underdeveloped healthcare systems.The hopes to become a Physician Assistant started after a career fair in high school that sparked my passion of both biology and providing for others. However, it really took off after senior year in high school I was hospitalized with a life-threatening case of a hemopneumothorax. From then, I sought to gain more knowledge of the best I can be to provider for others the same way they did for me. In my years, I've gained practical and people knowledge, from working from inpatient settings like the CVICU to services like as a crisis counselor. Apart from being interested in the frontlines of healthcare, I am passionate about the holistic view of our healthcare systems and how it affects our communities in other ways. With my experiences and my public health major, I am highly motivated to not just focus on the community's immediate care, but what we can also do to benefit them in their daily lives.
