During my two years at the Oregon Wine Lab I pressed, transferred, and barreled wine, regularly operating a pump and a forklift. I calculated and executed tank additions, tasted and blended wine, and kept records of my daily operations. Cleaning was a crucial part of my job, requiring me to keep the cellar clean generally as well as climb into tanks and scrub.In 2018, Mark, myself and one other cellar hand processed 57.5 tons of grapes. Working in a small team for a growing winery (~5,000 cases) gave me access to every step of the winemaking process, from picking to bottling.
