Working for Ledcor group as a contract mechanic, working on all earthmoving equipment and support equipment.

Fly in and out from diavik near Lac de Gras in the Northwest Territories. Worked on all makes and models of heavy mining equipment as well as support equipment.

Contracted by SMS to maintain mining and support equipment in a remote location at lac de gras.

Currently I am a foreman for earthworks, labour, and environmental tasks. Managing a crew of 10 as well as day to day relations with many types of subcontractors. I have become quite proficient as a grade man working with slope, cut, fill, and drainage.

Over the past 5 years I have done many different things with Flatiron. Starting as a labourer doing numerous jobs helping my development into earthworks. Concrete pours, substructure support, as well as piling foundation and working alongside crane operations both small and critical lifts were also learning curves. Moving to operating equipment I gained much experience and knowledge that allowed me to develop quite the skill and eye for final grading.

I was the first Canadian Nozzleman on this particular job that was signed off by city inspectors as a proficient shooter for concrete reinforcement. I continued to be the primary shooter for many months, later I also operated the 950 wheel loader, liebherr tunnel excavator, and the 725 articulated rock truck.
