Reached Qualified Station Officer status which seen myself ride in charge of a first responding Fire Appliance to a wide array of emergencies including Structure fires, Haz-Sub and Car accidents while at these emergencies I had a responsibility to keep myself, my crew, patients and the environment safe in high hazard/risk situations. I am a qualified USAR Cat 2 rescue technician trained in specialised rescue, primarily around structural collapse able to undertake high risk activities such as tunneling, confined space and hot work in these environments, we also responded to other situations requiring specialised rescue or specialised equipment. The use of dynamic risk assessment is critical in these environments as safety is of huge concern. I also was part of the team who established and organised our Tool Cache, storage and databasing plus setting up maintenance instructions and programming.
