I am a Principal and consulting actuary at Milliman. I have broad experience working in the healthcare industry with providers, insurers, and employers nationwide. I work with clients in their leadership roles to make key decisions and understand complex challenges. I really enjoy helping clients present and explain complicated information in a simple way to facilitate understanding and sound decision-making.I spend most my time focusing on value based care and supporting providers and payers to achieve goals for improving VBC strategy. I have a deep understanding provider-payer contracts and associated risks as entities look to improve the value of care provided to members and patients.I also work with payers in the ACA market. This work includes evaluating and monitoring risk sharing arrangements and associated transfers, market analyses for expansion, pricing, and provider contracting. I consult on strategic planning to help the companies manage their risk as a whole. Because these clients offer products, beyond a single market, I am able to provide valuable insights for markets across the healthcare spectrum.I have also consulted to large employer clients with more than 40,000 employees regarding financial projections and budgeting. I have also assisted clients with benchmarking their healthcare costs and evaluating areas where costs can be reduced while still maintaining a strategy consistent with the employer's long term plan.My experience also allows me to understand and assist clients in more traditional actuarial areas such as pricing of health and welfare benefits, plan design development and pricing, claims tracking, reserving, and preparing actuarial opinions.
