My qualifications include an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Master of Public Health Degree from Lakehead University as well as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation and Project Management Professional (PMP) designation. I have specific expertise related to health data and Ontario health funding models, including the Health Based Allocation Model (HBAM). My career spans 15+ years, 11 of which have been in Management or Senior Consultant roles. Some highlights include:• I’ve led large capital projects such as a major renovation in the operating rooms at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRRSC). • I’ve led/contributed to the development of successful funding proposals for new clinical programs such as the bariatric surgical clinic and the cardiovascular care program at TBRHSC. • As Director of Surgical Services at TBRHSC, I managed a budget of over $40M and a team of five Managers. • I wrote the budgeting software used at TBRHSC and was involved in several operational reviews and functional programming/master planning exercises. • During my time at the North West LHIN, I led the development of the Mental Health and Addictions Demand/Capacity Analysis and the Seniors’ Services Plan. • I was the local planning lead for infrastructure projects and I’m very familiar with the capital planning and approvals process in Ontario. My most recent employment was at the Northwest Heath Alliance (NWHA) where I provided consulting services to several Ontario Hospitals and Community Health Agencies. I also provided financial oversight to the NWHA, including providing regular financial updates to the Board of Directors and led the development of the Regional Business Intelligence System. The NWHA ceased operations in June 2019 and since then, I've been working privately in partnership with my former NWHA colleague Nelson Sidorski through our company 807 Management Services.
