Brent Mitchell, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, has dedicated himself to education for over two decades. His academic journey is a testament to his unwavering commitment, with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, dual Master's Degrees in Educational Leadership and Teaching and Curriculum from Harding University, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration from the University of Central Arkansas. He is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy Degree at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, further deepening his knowledge and passion for education..Brent's journey began in 2000 as a fifth-grade educator at Martin Luther King Elementary in Little Rock. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming Assistant Principal in the Little Rock School District, then Principal of Fuller Middle School in Pulaski County. In 2011, Brent transitioned to central office-level administrative roles, serving as the Director of Academics and Operations for Lighthouse Charter Schools before becoming Assistant Superintendent for Ignite Community Schools in Lewisville, Texas.During his tenure with Ignite Community Schools, Brent inaugurated two campuses, removed three schools from the needs improvement list, and earned numerous state distinction awards for academic excellence. He also successfully established multiple after-school programs and partnerships benefiting children of color.Brent is the Chief of Staff for the Ferguson Florissant School District in Hazelwood, MO, overseeing 9,600 children at 23 campuses. In 2023, upon joining the district, Brent expressed his eagerness to contribute to its proud history of educational excellence, aiming to enhance opportunities for all students. He is dedicated to listening, learning, and fostering unity among stakeholders for the holistic growth of every student.
