Brent Thomson is Chief Operating Officer of Compass California, a division of Compass, (NYSE:COMP), an innovative real estate firm founded in 2012 with operations across the U.S. Compass provides an end-to-end platform that empowers its residential real estate agents to deliver exceptional service to seller and buyer clients. Thomson oversees all business initiative implementation to ensure that Compass California maintains its growth, pace, cadence and continuity. Her core contributions include strategic and operational planning, program development, program execution and key quantitative measurement(s) of every aspect of the business. In this role, Thomson interfaces and collaborates with other key members of the Northern California Compass leadership team. In 2018, Thomson helped lead the merger of San Francisco-based Pacific Union International Inc. with Compass to establish Compass’s market share leadership in California. Prior to the merger, Thomson served as Chief Operations Officer of Pacific Union International, Inc. which grew from a boutique luxury real estate brokerage with sales volume of $2.2 billion into a premiere California brokerage and the fifth largest real estate firm in the U.S. with impactful international reach and sales volume topping $14 billion in 2017. Throughout 2015-2017, Thomson helped lead mergers with urban residential sales and marketing firm The Mark Company, and four top tier real estate brokerages across Northern and Southern California. This union seamlessly linked 1,700 elite real estate professionals operating in more than 50 offices throughout coastal California. Additionally, Thomson worked to develop joint operating ventures in the mortgage, insurance, and property management services within the Pacific Union brand. She helped pioneer residential real estate outreach to Asia, supporting a China Concierge office in Beijing in 2013 for Pacific Union’s clients in Mainland China. Thomson brings with her a proven track record of leading and motivating top performers in highly competitive industries, including an eight-year tenure as president of Pacific Union's Marin County region. In that role, Thomson grew Pacific Union's market share in Marin County by 20 percent and also served as a visionary member of the brokerage's board of directors, contributing to its growth from sales volume of $2.1 billion in 2009 to $10.81 billion in 2016.
