I am a software engineer with experience in both development and test. The majority of my programming ability is in the C, C++, and C# family of languages but I've dabbled in others like SQL, Python, and Lua.I like to view myself as a Swiss Army Knife: a person who possesses a versatile set of skills that can deploy those skills in many varied situations. I am able to quickly pick up additional skills to add to my toolbox, especially when assisted by extensive documentation and/or helpful colleagues. My love of reading and utilizing documentation to enhance my performance leads to my passion for authoring documentation. I try my best to ensure my knowledge is written down to ensure that those coming after me have an easier time and are able to become productive faster.One of my specialties is root cause analysis, the art of digging through telemetry, debug dumps, bug reports, and manual reproductions to discover the cause of an issue. That process enables me to construct a solution that I can then pass on to others or implement myself. Through my career I've found that I'm happiest when my work is enabling others to do their work much more efficiently.As to my technical proficiencies, C, C++, and C# are my mainstays while SQL, Python, and Lua are languages I have worked with but aren't as experienced in. I'm well versed with using Visual Studio and Windbg to both actively debug issues as well as examine crash dumps. I have experience with the Unity 3D game engine as a tool for rapid prototyping but not as a means for creating an end-project. I've become well aquainted with HDMI, HDCP, CEC, and their specifications during my time working on the Xbox One.
