Oversee the operations and management of the AFL Queensland Umpires Association as President.This member based group is Queensland's largest, oldest and most widely represented Australian Football Umpires Association, consisting of umpires aged from 15 - 60 based throughout South East Queensland officiating in grassroots community football all the way through to the AFL.Taking over the Presidency in season 2014 proved to be a defining year for the Association as we made great strides to move forward and evolve, just as the football landscape in Queensland evolves.My key focus in this role has been on- Increasing membership (36% increase)- Introducing a new website (www.aflqua.com)- Ensuring an operating surplus (First budget to see a surplus in 4 years)- Representing members in negotiations for improving terms and conditions- Increasing member interaction and building culture- Introduction of new logo to better represent identity and belonging- Building a strategic plan and vision for 2015 - 2020This role encompasses many challenges but proves to be a very enjoyable position in a volunteer capacity.
