About Brent Dreyer
Driven and passion for everything with and around networks. I have the ability to create, maintain, and modify any network size. As big as a metro size area for an ISP, down to a unit for home use.The skills I have acquired since even before I started working include:- Knowledge of optical systems,- Knowledge of packet systems,- Knowledge of management systems,- Advance troubleshooting from symptoms and log parsing,- Working with API calls- Creating custom scripts using PythonBut more importantly if I don't know something I have the drive to learn it to the best of my ability.My passion started when I was back in school in playing in the IT labs. Where it lead to becoming an electrician trying to break in to becoming a network installer. I was able homed my troubleshooting skills finding electrical faults and learn some basic fundamentals.A few years later I took the leap I started doing a Networking course in my spare time to land a job working with networks more directly. This is where my talent was recognised out side of my self and I start my networking career as a NOC technician for a equipment vendor, quickly being a customer support engineer. I have now worked with 2 global companies supporting their products and their image.When I am not at work work, I am at home. Still playing, investigating, learning about networks but on my own equipment. Setting up dockers and VMs to run the management software, running scripts I have made, Integrating home and network together (even my washing machine is connected to my network), buying new network hardware as my devices grow in number.I live and breath Networks. It is my passion in life.
