As Sr. Director of Technology responsibilities include end to end responsibility for the technology and teams that support the Flight, Car, Packaging, Insurance, Attractions and Services, Cruise, Site Testing and Experimentation, and Agent Servicing products across the many brands of Orbitz Worldwide. The flight product alone services over 18 million searches and 25K bookings per day. Teams consist of a globally distributed on site and offshore cross-functional Agile teams of approx. 90 engineers and managers.

Day to day management of the the Flight Technology teams, consisting of a globally distributed set of cross-functional Agile teams in development of the Flight Product, including travel features and flight inventory that enable flight search and booking across the many brands of Orbitz Worldwide. Key Accomplishments: Lead the migration efforts of our US Points of Sale from our legacy architecture to the Global Platform which enabled us to consolidate and manage products on one technology platform. This allows us to develop features once and roll them out globally across all OWW brands simultaneously. Member of the Agile adoption team responsible for the rollout of agile across all development teams within the organization. ScrumMaster role for the daily development activities on 2-week sprint cycles. Team consisted of 17 engineers.

Successfully managed the design and development of the next generation platform. Held a team leadership role affecting all areas of the Orbitz technology platform. Aggregated requirements for all brands to a single platform which achieved speed to market, operational efficiencies, and enabled business to open new partnerships and product opportunities. Managed all core frameworks of the organization, which include web application framework, JINI, configuration management, custom java container, eventing, content management, and distributed caching. Team consisted of 9 engineers.

The charter was to recruit top talent to improve the in-store and out-of-store analytics by enabling real time data mining and analysis. Software Architect and Development Manager. Worked on several projects aimed at improving the daily operations of the quick service restaurant industry through technological improvements and enterprise level analysis of operational data. Developed an XML based data access service that provided a common XML interface, which enabled applications to share common data definitions regardless of physical storage structure. Developed an in store data analysis dashboard to provide real time analysis of in-store operational data with visual and audible alerts. Direct management and mentoring of development teams ranging in size from 3 – 12 individuals. Technologies included Java, JBoss, EJB, XML, and XSLT.

Leapnet was a traditional ad agencies that expanded to focus on delivering commerce web applications. Eventually had a focus on the travel industry and integrations of Amadeus GDS and Broadvision. Delivered localized, internationalized, web based booking engines for Cathay Pacific, AndBook (Accor, Forte, Hilton), and Sam’s Club.
