Currently celebrating over 30 years in the power generation industry, GTC has been involved in all facets of gas turbine, reciprocating engine power generation, cogeneration, large scale solar and wind projects, distribution & transmission connected substation projects. Brent has over 40 years experience in the electrical, controls and related fields and has been a sought after international expert for EPC's, owner/developers and engineering firms on energy related projects ranging from 3MWe to 1000 MWe. He has tailored GTC International into a recognized industry leader most specifically in the area of commissioning and startup through all facets of electrical & thermal energy production including electrical substation commissioning up to the 500kv level. Highlighted projects include administration of comprehensive commissioning oversight for simple & combined cycle gas turbine cogeneration projects, large wind power projects exceeding $1B, numerous large scale solar facilities; full facility start-up and commissioning power plant projects throughout Canada, the US & Caribbean. Mr. Haeber continues to offer consulting & commissioning management services to companies throughout North America and has attained a reputation as a Tier 1 commissioning manager. Most recent project involvement includes the turnover coordination of the $1.5B - 970MW NGS combined cycle power generating station located in southeastern Ontario, a six project portfolio of wind generation and related substations representing >500MW of renewable energy. GTC is proud to have been recently selected to provide overall commissioning management on the Oneida 250MW (1GW/hr) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Canada, ranking as the largest of its kind in Canada and amongst the largest in the world, slated for a COD in early 2025. With a solid foundation in electrical, instrumentation & controls, thermal generation, gas turbines, electrical protection & control, combined with an extensive knowledge base derived from numerous projects, he possesses a unique ability to see any project, regardless of size, through successful start-up and commercial operation including SOP & training development.
