    Beyond the Bell formed from three 21st Century Community Learning Center grants that began in January 2011. All of the grants were overseen by James Madison University and were a partnership with the Harrisonburg City Public Schools.From January 2011-June 2014, Beyond the Bell operated a network of out-of-school learning programs across three schools in Harrisonburg City (Smithland Elementary, Skyline Middle and Thomas Harrison Middle School) and served nearly 1,000 young people.With the expiration of the final of the three grants during the summer of 2014, Beyond the Bell successfully transitioned to its own 501(c)3 non-profit organization called On the Road Collaborative.

(June 2010)• Raised over $2,000 from 30+ donors in our organization’s annual grassroots fundraising campaign and was a top individual fundraiser in our 400+ person organization. Utilized social media, storytelling and networking to exceed both individual and staff team-based fundraising goals set by the organization (Spring 2010) • Led the Boston region’s summer student recruitment and orientation week efforts. Managed a cross-organizational 20 member team along with 10+ high school interns that resulted in the recruitment of over 200+ students attending our 7 Boston campuses. Responsibility highlights included overseeing the creation of the week-long curriculum, family outreach and registration efforts and managing all aspects of a 500-person family launch event at UMASS-Boston.
