Undergraduate research • In Biology, I researched the optimal forging habits of Sciurus niger (fox tail squirrels) in which I observed the forging preferences of various different individuals of this species, in multiple sample sites including state and urban parks. I then compiled the biological data into a statistical analysis program, Minitab. Finally, I compiled this data into a narrative form using a Microsoft word processing program for a deliverable report. • In GIS, I analyzed spatial population models of Colorado’s Odocoileus hemionus (mule deer) and Cervus canadensis (elk). While researching these species, I compiled biological data in a tabular spreadsheet from the Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) archived information, spatially joining the database with an ArcGIS to analyze temporal and disease influence on Colorado’s species populations. At that point, I used ArcGis, which is considered a graphic program, to create a report of the information in a graphic form.
