With over 25 years of experience in the fire service, I am currently the Deputy Fire Chief for the District of Lake Country, where I manage operations, administration, and community safety for the fire department. I hold professional designations as an Executive Chief Fire Officer (ECFO) through the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs and as an Associate (AIFireE) through the Institution of Fire Engineers. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Public Safety Administration from the Justice Institute of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Business Administration from UBC Okanagan.Throughout my career, I have led numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing community safety, including the implementation of new fire inspection and public education programs, the development of a modern fire station, and the establishment of significant grant funding for major projects. I have also championed committees focused on the design and procurement of firefighting apparatus, coordinated firefighter recruitment training for over a decade, and developed a comprehensive emergency response plan for our community.I am passionate about cultivating a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the fire department. I prioritize empowering staff to enhance their skills and competencies while engaging effectively with stakeholders, including municipal council, the public, and other emergency services, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
