Mavrixx is a mental health training agency created to empower youth and young professionals through speaking, consulting and our programs (The EDGE, The LEAP Academy & MINDvsMOUNTAIN). We aim to shift the dialogue around mental health and offer support, resources and tools for people and organizations to overcome mental health challenges, manage the stress and chaos of modern life and perform at a high level. Brent Seal is the Founder of Mavrixx. Brent experienced mental health struggles during university and since then has graduated from his 2010 SFU Business class as Valedictorian, shared his story around BC and across Canada and gotten heavy into adventures, having run a number of ultramarathons and taken part in mountaineering objective around North America to raise awareness for mental health. As a FORCE Youth in Residence at BC Children's Hospital, I offered peer support to youth across British Columbia and worked on innovative youth engagement projects that offer youth opportunities to get involved in promoting mental health awareness. Coming into the role when it was created, I was part of creating and growing the mindcheck.ca social media channels, created and launched the Kelty Youth Ambassador Program, created and hosted the Balancing Our Minds Youth Summit, held at Rogers Arena and contributed to many other initiatives.
