Lead developer and UX expert for a creative team with clients such as Dunkin', Namco Entertainment, Program Productions, and other regional clients in both the Chicago and Des Moines metropolitan area. Worked in tandem with the creative team and brand managers to plan out site specifications, produce wireframes and interactive prototypes during the design stage, and then the development of the final product.

Development and maintenance on the company’s major program companion sites (Chicago Tonight, Check, Please! and other major programs) using both Drupal and WordPress as well as support and troubleshooting custom applications developed for on-air scheduling, shopping cart, and events. I develop new sites in Drupal from design layouts utilizing existing and new technology where appropriate. I have programmed interactive sites to support on-air efforts such as sweepstakes, viewer’s choice awards and new season kickoffs. I have also programmed, edited and deployed promotional e-mails and informational newsletters.

I was responsible for the design and front-end coding of a 1.5 million user per month web site’s primary user interface, along with the design of the site’s shopping cart, product and category pages, and homepage. With the redesign I implemented in 2012, the site saw a double-digit lift in conversion. I am also responsible for updates and maintenance on the site’s interface using a custom .NET CMS, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, as well as the brand’s weekly email marketing campaigns, which during my time at the company have seen a 3 point conversion lift overall.

I launched and rebranded a dozen businesses over two years. Each opportunity served as a chance to be an informed expert for companies in need of development and design skills and apply my expertise in whatever way was best for each company to achieve their goals on the web. I developed small e-commerce sites, informational sites with custom photo galleries and a complete brand strategy for a startup beauty company, web applications and email marketing campaigns. I handled all design and programming of each web project from concept to completion—all on or under budget. The sites and applications were developed using PHP, .NET, JavaScript, jQuery and, HTML and CSS.

As Web Product Manager for the Interiors division (retail furniture, lighting, and industrial woodworking) of Vance Publishing Corporation, I managed the division’s seven publication web sites, ad campaigns, email campaigns and updates using a custom .NET CMS and HTML and CSS. I managed the development of four major redesigns—personally designing the UI for each—implemented and managed online advertising revenue strategies. I was also the manager of a two-person editor team, directly responsible for scheduling, reviewing, and mentoring.
