On-Site Field Observer
Served as HRC's On-Site Field Observer for a residential road reconstruction project in Wixom, MI for the summer of 2014. My primary duties included recording and submitting daily progress reports, working with the various contractors to ensure that the actual project met contract specifications, and scheduling material testing for the several phases of concrete, aggregate base, and HMA work. My duties also included daily interaction with the residents - communicating the ongoing status and schedule of the project, promptly addressing any concerns or issues, and in general making myself as visible and available as possible. In addition to maintaining daily progress reports and pay item quantities, I also provided the project engineers and the Wixom DPW director with the current status of the project and a 7-day activity projection, on a weekly basis.The scope of the project included:- Frame and cover replacements for all structures in the neighborhood (catch basins, storm MH's, sanitary MH's, and gate valve MH's).- Removal of existing mountable concrete curb & gutter, and placement of new.- Removal of existing concrete drive approaches, and placement of new.- Placement of 6" Underdrain along curbline, and tapped into existing catch basin structures.- Reconstruction and adjustment of existing catch basin structures.- Pulverizing and milling of existing HMA pavement.- Excavation of existing subgrade.- Placement of Geogrid TX5 and new 21AA Limestone aggregate base.- Placement of new 4" HMA 13A pavement.
On-Site Field Observer
Recorded and submitted daily progress and quantity reports on a variety of different civil engineering projects. Projects to which I was assigned included water-main replacement, concrete roadway repair, bridge deck repair, storm water reconstruction, and residential HMA roadway reconstruction. In addition to reports, I also carefully monitored the quality of the contractor's work to ensure that it satisfied the agreed specifications, and communicated with the contractor, residents, city officials, project engineers, and my superiors on a daily basis.

I was responsible for promptly posting homework assignments, retrieving those assignments, grading, and returning them on the stated date. I also provided a regularly scheduled tutoring session every week for any student enrolled in the course. I was also responsible for grading the assigned homework according to the professor's given standards and criteria, recording those grades, and then submitting those grades to the professor at the end of the semester.

Course work at LTU can be summarized in three categories - experiential design, practical design, and design impact consideration. Experiential design was gained through the rigorous and intense design studios, where the desire to effectively communicate a specific experience was exhaustively explored.Practical design was gained through the technical classes, where we learned to consider loads, regulations, construction practices, environmental systems, electrical systems, and other such parameters in the design process.Finally, we learned both formally and informally to consider the impact and effect a given design would have on it's surroundings and environment, and, conversely, how the surroundings and environment should influence the design.

Was responsible for punctually opening/closing the store, directing subordinate team members during each shift, preparing beverages and services according to company standards, actively engaged with the customers in a friendly and professional manner, balanced the safe and the beginning and end of each shift, couriered cash deposits, and was very proficient in the register software.
