I represent corporate clients as general counsel, and both individual and corporate clients in a variety of civil, white collar, and criminal matters. I strive to recognize and address issues before they arise, which saves my clients time and money. I represent individuals and corporations in connection with white collar matters ranging from investigations to formal prosecutions. I handle and oversee internal corporate investigations; if the authorities are involved in an investigation, whether state or federal, I manage and oversee my clients' compliance with a focus on limiting risk of litigation, publicity and long-term consequences whenever possible. Over the past several years, I represented clients in federal pharmaceutical misbranding investigations, state Medicaid fraud prosecutions, a variety of civil New York State administrative and licensing proceedings (incl. Department of Labor, State Liquor Authority, State Education Department, Office of the Professions, State Taxation and Finance, Attorney General, et. al), and have represented state employees in several disciplinary investigations/prosecutions.I have an established federal criminal defense practice, which is wholly distinct from state work. I also represent clients in state and local criminal matters ranging from serious felonies to violations. Many criminal charges, no matter how minor, carry the risk of long-term consequences.
