About Bret Armanini, Pmp
Green Tech Enthusiast | Innovator | Reactor Engineering | Construction Experience | Process Engineering | Vendor Management | Technical Project Manager, I enjoy helping businesses create new value by scaling up new technologies from the laboratory to demonstration scale. My current green tech role is the design and construction of a demonstration scale plant manufacturing a reactive form of calcium carbonate. The reactive calcium carbonate material reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to normal Portland cement by >60%. The demonstration scale plant uses a calcium pre-courser and cement kiln flue gas from a host plant site to form the reactive calcium. Previous green tech I have worked on as an innovator: catalytic conversion of methane to ethylene, catalytic reduction of heavy equipment nitrous oxide emissions and membrane separation technologies. In all these technologies, I enjoyed developing new technologies that will make heavy industry cleaner for all of us.Scaling up technology to demonstration scale has allowed me to gain construction experience in heavy industry. The construction experience ranges from fabrication of laboratory / pilot / skid mounted units, a retrofit to a four-story modular demonstration scale catalytic reactor and brownfield construction of a demonstration scale a reactive calcium carbonate plant.Recent years have shown a shift in my skill set away from chemical / process engineering to green technology technical project management with the goals of ensuring the proper scope was being completed, schedule of values, keeping the vendors accountable to the contracts, identifying delays caused by various parties and negotiating corrective actions.I enjoy bringing teams together of various experts like computer aided design, processing engineering, mechanical engineering, business development and other SME’s to work collaboratively on a technology. Throughout my career I have successfully managed remote multi-disciplinary teams to push new technologies forward. My most recent employer has expanded my skills where I have had the opportunity to include the activities of negotiations, procurement, vendor management, and budget management. These new skills have allowed me to identify critical tasks that are needed to keep pushing projects forward.
Listed skills include Data Analysis, Integration, Engineering, Six Sigma, and 35 others.
