Led the accounting activities for UP's $700 million annual freight car rent expense. Managed $50 million in annual billing and collections for intermodal chassis and container repair and maintenance. Implemented new audit routines to reconcile equipment ownership within internal/external databases and to identify and recoup excess payments.

Responsible for all financial management activities related to Union Pacific's subsidiary that operates passenger train service in Chicago. Led staff of 9 that managed the $200 million purchased services contract with Metra. Duties included financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, revenue accounting, and capital budgeting and billing. Directed a staff of 20 responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting, capital expense, monthly closing, budgeting and forecasting. Led development of new financial models to bring greater visibility to pricing and unit margins at transload facilities.

Responsible for all financial management activities at Streamline, a Union Pacific wholly owned intermodal subsidiary with $80M in annual revenue. Directed a staff of 5 accountable for accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, capital expense, monthly closing, budgeting and forecasting. Drove new technology to automate management of our freight billing, cash application, and billing dispute processes.

Directed a staff of 10 responsible for billing and collections for non-freight related charges at Union Pacific, including government and joint facility recollectable engineering expenditures in excess of $1 billion annually. Led development of new overhead billing rates within SAP to increase cost recovery of administrative departmental expenses.

Directed a staff of 8 responsible for the billing, collections, cash application and dispute resolution of freight revenue. Managed all credit functions for UPRR customers, including issuance, revocations, and bankruptcy / litigation efforts. Let the outsourcing of collection agencies contracted by the company. Drove technology enhancements for our online freight billing and payment system.
