As an intern my region is the West Coast. I am responsible for booking freight for wheat middlings and DDGs out of two flour mills and numerous trans-load facilities. Additionally, I get to trade the spot market for both commodities.

I did the day-to-day activities that an entry commodity merchandiser would do. I spent much of my time on the phone maintaining accounts. I bought soybeans and sold soybean meal. Additionally, I mapped out leading competition and top clients to make a visual on the logistics of the business. If you have ever been in the ADM Lincoln office.... I made the map on the wall.
