Job duties included level 3 and 4 production support for live site issues. Deploying RHEL5/6, OEL7.x, Ubuntu16.x bare metal servers, as well as deployed U16.x and RHEL6.x to Openstack hypervisors, and VM’s. Deployed ESXi to VMWare servers, and RHEL5/6 to VMWare VM’s. Openstack management of hypervisors, VM,s and supporting infrastructure. 100’s of server migrations to various datacenters. Managed puppet master/agent deployments. Hosts used puppet agents locally to pull puppet configs from master servers to stay updated with current customer based configurations (sudo, NFS, host access, etc…). Several thousand servers in this environment. Strong troubleshooting skillset required for daily break/fix issues. Loose gear deployments, rack based deployments, etc. All done remotely as we did not have physical access to the servers in the data centers.Unix Systems Engineer (contractor 08/11-01/12Member of the Systems Delivery team that deployed Solaris2.x, RHEL5/6 servers to various internal customers at PayPal. Also managed F5 configurations for various LTM VIP’s, pools, nodes. Level 3 support for production related issues.

TIMS group manages over 2500 mid-range servers. This included ESX server farms for RHEL4/5, and WS2003 virtual hosts, Solaris 10 zone clusters, as well as Solaris 10, and RHEL4 VCS clustered physical servers for Oracle.Primary duties included building/deploying RHEL4/5 and WS2003 VM's, Solaris 10 global/local zones, and VCS clustered hosts for various AMEX developer groups.Provided application deployment, integration, support and engineering consulting for these developer groups.Managed 24/7 oncall rotation providing escalation support for level 3 engineering as well as escalation support within the TIMS engineering group outside of the oncall rotation for Solaris, RedHat, VCS, vxvm, vxfs, and SVM issues. -
