I am a seasoned professional, having worked in both the Human Resources and the Legal fields for the past 25 years. As the Chief HR leader in several prior roles, I was directly responsible for leading and developing all organizational Talent initiatives. I have also managed medium to large teams to meet and exceed targeted outcomes. As lead defense counsel in a number of contentious lawsuits, I honed my critical thinking, negotiation, writing, and advocating skills. A caring and mindful HR professional, combined with the savvy and tenacity of a seasoned litigator; I find is the perfect blend for leading an innovative home care company, like Nurse Next Door, Pinellas. My career path has been long and varied, and the present is no different. As I launch into my new role as Chief Operating Officer with Nurse Next Door, Pinellas, I will continue leaning on my prior experience and training to build a strong regional presence in the Pinellas County area. Whether it is hiring, training and onboarding new staff; reviewing legal documents for an upcoming community partnership meeting; or negotiating better rates on new office space, my broad experience allows me to meet the challenges we face head on, and to handle setbacks with a measure of grace. In home care, we deal with people. And, with people, each interaction and experience is unique. At Nurse Next Door, Pinellas, we see and value the entire individual, employees and clients, alike. As such, we take the time to deal with people as people. We take the time to care! We do more than simply complete the required tasks for each visit (light housekeeping, meal prep, bathing, etc.). Every home care company does that. But, Nurse Next Door goes much farther. We find out what makes our clients light up, then we endeavor to get the client doing more of that very thing! That's what Happier Aging means; doing more of the things you love, even as you age. We tailor our visits around the client's physical, emotional, and social needs, but more importantly, we come up with creative ways to interact with the client, doing the things they have told us they enjoy the most. People matter to us and helping them live as happily and as independently as possible, within their own home, is the "why" that underpins all we do. It is our mission.
