Chief Credit Officer- Svp

Lincoln 1St Bank

Chief Credit Officer and Chief Commercial Lending Officer- Lincoln 1st Bank was placed on consent order from the FDIC from an audit that took place four months before my arrival. Bank was engaged in monthly meetings with the FDIC as well as other regulatory bodies in the state of New Jersey. The bank had not effectively been lending commercially since January of 2020. In my first nine months executed on a brand-new commercial loan policy as well as designed a completely revamped risk rating model, policy, combined with an ROE pricing model. Documentation for underwriting was updated and improved upon. An annual review process was put in place via the new commercial loan policy as well as a standardization of required documents for a completed credit package. Tracking for all aspects of credit, annual review and new business was put in place. The FDIC returned in June 2021 for its larger annual review and our CAMELS rating improved in the two key areas needed to move our score up high enough to numerically take us off of the consent order. Asset Quality improved one whole level as did Management. If these upgrades had not occurred it was highly likely the bank would have ceased being a going concern. In July of 2021 the board of directors allowed my group to begin developing a commercial loan pipeline. Spearheading this new initiative, within five months we were able to build up a pipeline of nearly $15MM in new loans.
