Brett Everett has developed an excellent reputation in California mortgage circles over the past decade for being able to execute complicated residential and commercial loans. He has a great feel for what makes for a successful loan, being able to look at the loan through the eyes of the borrower and the lender, continually taking loans from proposal to execution.He started his mortgage career in 2003, working for regional lender PMC Corporation. Almost by accident, Brett got into hard money and private money lending, sourcing financing for clients with unique properties or real estate development projects that couldn’t fit into the bank underwriting matrix. Brett formed his own company in 2004 and built up a large network of contacts in the California private money lending community.In 2010, Brett went to work for BOFI Federal Bank, a La Jolla, California-based FDIC insured bank. At BOFI, Brett originated jumbo and super jumbo residential mortgages nationwide almost exclusively for self-employed borrowers and real estate investors.Brett is a native of the Bay Area, growing up in Alameda. He attended high school in Utah at Wasatch Academy and later served on the board of directors. He graduated from San Diego State University in 2000 and lived in San Diego until 2013 before moving back to the Bay Area.In the winter, Brett spends most of his weekends up in Lake Tahoe.
