Responsible for driving the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of operational strategies, processes, and work practices to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery. This role provides leadership and guidance in optimising operational systems and methodologies, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and business objectives. A focus on technical leadership, continuous improvement, and field-based operational support is essential for enhancing performance.

Operational and practice improvements, and reporting.

Lead Operational Performance activities and team to ensure Network Control and Operations reporting, analysis and compliance requirements are met.

Work Practice responsibilities for electrical field work and operational procedures across the Transmission and Distribution business. In addition, responsibility for Network Access Authorisations and operational field auditing of both internal and external work resources.

-Manage delivery of Vegetation and other relevant works programs to agreed target dates, budget & quality.-Manage activities to revenue, expenditure and EBIT targets.-Manage delivery of quality audit program. -Manage emergency response.-Manage contractor performance/relationship, compliance & resolve operational issues.

The duties I performed in this position included:• To ensure a safe work environment is maintained applying all company policies and safe work practices and demonstrate a very strong commitment to the safety of our employees, customers, suppliers & the community• Carry out supply negotiations in a timely and productive manner to meet customer, network connection and capacity allocation requirements for non-complex works.• Prepare design, estimate, scope, A to P documentation, offers, construction packages, technical specifications and financial closeout for non-complex works both internal and turnkey.• Provide initial ‘scope of works’ for complex works.• Monitor costs and progress of works and intervene where necessary to ensure delivery of expected business outcomes.• Assist with budget preparation and expenditure monitoring.• Assist in the identification of quality of supply issues and coordinate with Network Services Centre and Engineering to ensure Distribution Code requirements are met.• Liaise with customers, retailers and Network Services Centre to resolve issues associated with the connection point services.

Undertake Field Design Surveys & associated design calculations for overhead Distribution lines, and the production of the following types of plans using AutoCAD:• Overhead & Underground Electrical Distribution Plans.• Lease & Easement Plans• Cadastral Survey Plans• Indoor Substation Plans• Maintain & update graphical asset database (DSM2)• General Charts & Presentational DocumentsOther duties include:• Design Underground Residential Supply Systems• Produce presentational documents for Business Reports using Coreldraw under Windows.
