Growing up, I found myself observing people and analyzing why they did what they did. Understanding what motivates people fascinated me and I felt a calling to work with people, though at the time I didn't know in what capacity that would be. I eventually enrolled in a BBA, Human Resources program and became fascinated with areas including organizational behaviour, recruitment & selection, and training & development. After graduating I spent almost four years as an HR Generalist, developing my skills and aligning human resources management with business needs in the civil construction and maintenance industry.Then, my career took a massive turn as I realized how vast the world is, and I felt I needed more experience in life. I moved to Japan as an English teacher in high-school for two years which created a new passion for working with youth and cross-cultural experiences. After living abroad, I dedicated myself to serving my local community and found service in youth program coordinating in non-profit in gender equity, and volunteering as a youth mentor. This is where I began to truly understand what it meant to meet people where they're at. Now, I find myself looking to bridge the unique experiences throughout my career and life with my personal curiosity, empathy, and deep desire to learn and understand as a career advisor in post-secondary education. When I'm not in the office or working remotely, you'll find me in the gym training kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, playing real-time strategy games or re-watching episodes of Avatar.
