I am now in my twenty-fourth year as an educator in Georgia. I am currently in my sixth year as a Certified School Improvement Specialist/SCI&SS Consultant at NGRESA. I taught in Hall County my first year and then my wife and I relocated back home to the Dalton area where I taught Social Studies at Murray County High School in 2000. I left MCHS as Social Studies department chair in 2006 to become assistant principal at Woodlawn Elementary School followed by four years as A.P. at Eton Elementary with the last two years there splitting my time between Eton and Northwest Elementary Schools. In 2011, I moved to Bagley Middle School to become A.P. and the following year was named Principal at Coker Elementary School. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to work with some wonderful educators in the school system and work with the youth of our community. I am so thankful for all of my experiences and feel that they, along with my education, have given me the knowledge that I need to be an effective leader. In my current role the majority of my work is done working with state identified CSI and TSI schools. In addition, I also serve as the Science and Social Studies Consultant/Leader at NGRESA. In addition to this full-time position, I also am a part-time online adjunct professor with The University of Arizona Global Campus. I teach several graduate level courses in Educational Leadership. Lastly, but most importantly, I married my best friend Susanna Bartley James, MPH/BS Ed. who currently serves as an HIV Prevention Health Educator for the North Georgia Health District, in 1999 and we have two beautiful daughters. Elizabeth Rose graduated with Honors from North Murray HS in 2020 and works as a Dental Assistant at Dental One Associates in Dalton. Caitlin Ann is currently in 9th grade at Murray HS where she is a member of FCA and is a team member of the MCHS Dance Team and the Competition Dance Team at Performing Arts Unlimited (PAU) in Chatsworth. She is also part of the youth group at FBC of Chatsworth. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my beautiful wife and girls. I am truly blessed! God is so good!!
