I have been fortunate enough to have a fulfilling career teaching in Clarkston for the past 25 years. Throughout my career, I have held various positions that have allowed me to develop a wide range of skills.For 15 years of my career, I taught Middle School Science. During this time, I created and implemented engaging lesson plans, provided students with hands-on learning experiences, and assessed student progress. Through my years of teaching, I developed strong communication and organizational skills, as well as an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.I was also fortunate enough to serve as an Assistant Principal for five years. As an Assistant Principal, I was responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the school, supervising teachers, managing student behavior, and ensuring that school policies were followed. This position allowed me to develop strong leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.For the past five years, I have been working as an Instructional Technologist. In this role, I work closely with teachers and students to integrate technology into their lessons, provide training and professional development, and troubleshoot technical issues. This position has allowed me to stay current with the latest educational technology trends and develop strong problem-solving and analytical skills while still teaching students from grades Y5 - 12. .Throughout my career, I have acquired a diverse set of skills that have allowed me to be successful in each of my positions. My ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and adapt to change have been key to my success. Additionally, my leadership and management skills, as well as my proficiency in technology, have allowed me to make a significant impact on the students and teachers I have worked with throughout my career.I am grateful for the opportunities that my career in education has provided me. Through my experiences as a teacher, Assistant Principal, and Instructional Technologist, I have developed a wide range of skills that have allowed me to positively impact the lives of countless students and educators.
