Brett became the CEO of Educate Tomorrow in 2012 and has grown from an annual revenue of under $500,000 to over $5,000,000 in 2024. In 2020 Brett was named Miami Today’s Best of Miami for Educate Tomorrow’s work throughout the COVID-19 crisis. In 2020 he was a part of the Mayor of Miami-Dade Counties’s COVID Task Force to determine when to reopen childcare programs, youth activities and sports. In 2018 Brett was honored by the Florida Department of Children and Families as a 2018 Child Welfare Champion. Educate Tomorrow is a Miami-Dade County based 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to create educational opportunities for disadvantaged youth. Since 2013 Educate Tomorrow has received awards for partnership, leadership and innovation from Florida International University, Miami Dade College, Voices for Children, Bank of America Neighborhood Builders, Miami Marlins Charity of the Year, The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, American Red Cross Women's Spectrum awards and College Board. Brett is an alumni of the National Urban Fellows Executive Leadership Program and the Miami Foundation Miami Leaders program where he attended the FIU High Potential Leader Program. Before Educate Tomorrow Brett was an officer of buildOn where he led their International programs from 2005-2012 overseeing the construction of over 1,000 classrooms for more than 40,000 children in rural Haiti, Nicaragua, Senegal, Mali, Malawi, Niger, Nepal and India. Brett served as a United States Peace Corps volunteer in Niger, West Africa from 2001-2003. Brett has a B.A. in Communication from the University of Arizona and an M.S.Ed in Community and Social Change from the University of Miami. He is currently a board member of Hope for Haiti and STEM Access for Girls, and was on the board of the Miami Dade County Community Based Care Alliance and buildOn from 2012-2016. He is co-chair of the Education and Employment committee for Helping Our Miami Youth (HOMY), a collective impact led by Miami Homes for All.
