Brett is one of the founding partners of Shifflett & Philips, LLP. His primary disciplines include performance of federal and state tax compliance and consulting with individuals, estates, partnerships, and corporations. In addition to income tax, Brett has extensive experience in outsourced CFO/Controller services such as general accounting, account reconciliation, cash flow forecasting, budgeting and preparation of financial statements. Prior to founding Shifflett & Philips, Brett spent nine years working in the tax industry serving clients in many different industries including retail, service business, real estate, financial services, software development, and manufacturing. He has assisted clients with various compliance issues, as well as IRS audit representation, complex transaction calculations, and R&D credit studies. Brett received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and a Master Degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas. He is a member of the AICPA and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Brett lives in Fairview Texas with his wife and two daughters and is a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church.
