• Developed and implemented Hassell’s environmental sustainability strategy and associated initiatives. The strategy is annually recertified to ISO 14001:2015.
• Led Hassell’s participation in a range of organisations including the UN Global Compact, Architects Declare, MECLA, US & Australian Green Building Councils.
• Designed and implemented Hassell’s 100% Renewable Energy strategy including coordinating the surrender of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).
• Coordinated quarterly sustainability reporting to the Hassell Board and Hassell’s annual UN Global Compact Communication on Progress.
• Formulated and managed the annual Hassell sustainability budget including liaison with CEO and CFO.

• Developed and managed a research and knowledge sharing framework for Hassell in consultation with internal and external stakeholders.
• Led Hassell’s participation in the 7 year, $100M Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) for Low Carbon Living.
• Managed a team of researchers and facilitated two successful AusIndustry Innovation Connection research collaboration grants.
• Undertook four missions to China to meet with China green building councils and private sector organisations
• Lectured and presented at universities and conferences, including Tongji, Shanghai Jiao Tong and Sydney universities.
• Directed the carbon reporting and reduction programme. Over 5-year period business related carbon emissions reduced by 30% on a per person basis.

• Assisted with the establishment, then led the Hassell Sustainable Futures Unit (SFU). The SFU was established to improve environmental performance and increase skills and knowledge in sustainable design.
• Facilitated training of Hassell GBCA and LEED Accredited Professionals
• Collected evidence and coordinated two successful Research and Development Taxation Concession submissions to the Australian Tax Office.
• Led and project managed the stakeholder consultation and design stages of the $240M Queens Square Law Courts redevelopment project.
• Managed the architectural team for a consortium bidding for the $300M Single LEAP (living accommodation) project for the Australian Defence Force.
• Developed an Excel based Hassell project management system for planning and forecasting staffing levels, costs, and profitability on projects.

• Led and managed the 15 person Hassell architectural and urban design team for the $650 million Cross City Tunnel project.
• Managed the design and consultant team for the design stage of the $90M 171 Aviation Squadron (Multi-Role Helicopter) relocation project
• Invited to present the architectural and urban design innovations of the Cross City Tunnel project at the 12th Australian Tunnelling Conference.
• Managed the Sydney studio component of the Hassell Quality Assurance System. The system was subsequently re-certified to ISO 9000.

• Project Architect (Construction Stage) and Contract Superintendent for the $15M redevelopment of North Sydney Olympic Swimming Pool. The pool was awarded the 2001 RAIA NSW Award for Public Buildings
• Architect & Landscape Architect for the urban design and civil engineering works for the main Sydney 2000 Olympic Games venue at Homebush.
