As Community Advocacy Officer for a small Non-Government Organisation, I am responsible for undertaking community-level research and engaging with various stakeholders, to ensure the needs and interests of local migrant and refugee communities are known to all levels of government. The role also involves applying for grants and managing government funding agreements, analysing policy and developing community programs and services to meet identified needs.

As the first employee of AWECC, my role involved a broad range of management and administrative responsibilities, including policy and project development, sourcing and securing grants and funding, delivering community programs, events and advocacy, stakeholder development, and financial management. In this role, I had the privilege and great opportunity to help establish a new voice for multicultural communities in Albury Wodonga, through the establishment of the Albury-Wodonga Ethnic Communities Council (AWECC). The role involved case coordination, service referrals, individual advocacy, and general counselling using a Trauma-informed, Solutions-focused therapeutic mode of practice.

As Recruitment Consultant, I provided applicant screening, job matching and customer service to the industrial and hospitality labour hire market.

In this role I was responsible for the scheduling of receivable stock and the dispatching of customer orders through the warehouse.
