The back-end was developed in Java with PostgreSQL, Struts, JBoss, and Velocity.• Implemented tools and infrastructural components for use in FlightStats platform and products, including a system-wide notification distribution system using JMX and JMS and a permission system for controlling user access to various modules and components.• Developed a dynamic routing engine for calculating a set of flight route options for getting from one location to another, applying user specified filtering and criteria to prefer certain flights / routes over others. Initially developed for use in Pathfinder-Web, FlightStats' application for Freight Forwarders and Logistics Companies, it is now also used via APIs and in other FlightStats products. The engine used an advanced directed graph algorithm with enhancements for inter-dependent weighting. It was built in Java running on JBoss using Web Services for the interaction with other systems.
