Involved in horse racing from an early age Brett began his career in the Sport of Kings as a work rider / 'mucker outer' at Norman Babbage's racing stable near Cheltenham before moving on to work on a permanent basis for Mikey Heaton-Ellis at Barbury Castle, Marlborough.After a short spell as amateur jockey to Ian Williams (his claim to fame is that he once beat Ryan Moore in an amateur riders race at Warwick - neither of them won but Brett finished in front of the future riding legend - go on, check it out for yourself on Racingpost.com! Brett moved further afield and enjoyed spells with Alan King and Andrew Balding. In 2004 Brett jumped at the chance to take up a six month rider's contract in Dubai for Satish Seemar and stayed there for the next 10 years, albeit ending his time in the UAE in a completely different capacity!From setting up his own radio show to having his own column in the local paper, Brett became the lead anchor on Dubai Racing Channel, and would be the first to say a lot happened in such a short space of time - many of which was learnt on the job! Keen to broaden his horizons, Brett departed Dubai in June 2014 to focus on the task in hand in the UK and is currently a producer (and sometimes pundit) on satellite TV channel Attheraces as well a presenter on Cheltenham & Timeform Radio, Coral TV and a regular contributer to the fledgling production company Equine Productions.Brett recently took on the role as 'Go Racing in Yorkshire' 'Raceday Presenter'.
