About Brett Ryan

I am an accomplished Executive Officer and business-improvement professional, with five years’ direct EO experience at Griffith University. I thoroughly enjoy Executive Officer work. I thrive on the frenetic pace of the role, and I love the challenge of not knowing what each day will bring. I have always aspired to a position like this in that it makes a difference, it puts me ‘in the room’ to influence decision-making, and above all else, it presents a challenge. I have worked in higher education for over twelve years, and I have extensive management experience in the corporate sphere prior to that. Other senior positions I’ve held include the Planning & Performance Manager, Survey Manager, and Senior Business Analyst. My organisational skills are excellent, I enjoy running projects and nurturing partnerships. I love writing, researching briefs and memos, and keeping my various executives on track. My Deputy Registrars says that I “am the glue that holds everything together”. Excel is my happy place and I love wrangling data. I can design and run a complex survey campaign too. You will find me to be a positive and enthusiastic employee with strong references. I hold a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Journalism and Government) from the University of Queensland, where I was awarded a Dean’s Commendation for High Achievement and accepted into the Golden Key National Honour Society. On the personal side, I have two boys in high school, four bikes, three guitars, one black labrador, hundreds of books, and one amazing partner.I’d love to connect with you and I am always open to opportunities so please reach out!
