About Brett Carruthers
All my life I have been writing and performing music. There really is nothing I enjoy more than working through the creative process. From playing Rock n Roll shows and writing songs for cartoons to producing albums and scoring films I will be there with all of my heart.Every spare minute I get is spent on some form of music, I have my band A Primitive Evolution and I also compose a wide range of music for various projects. In 2012 we started Sugar High Bunny Punch, since then we have written theme songs for 6 television cartoon series for companies such as Nelvana Ltd. and D-Rights. My band's music has also been featured in the movie "Chastity Bites" on the TV series "Degrassi: The Next Generation" and on the cartoon network's show "Stoked." Recently we also scored a short Independent film written and directed by “Suits” star Patrick J Adams.My past work at Nelvana and Corus Entertainment has given me an array of invaluable business skills. I worked there as a Casting Administrator and a Recording Engineer for 12 years and gained experience and knowledge in Casting, Accounting, Business Affairs, Department Management and ACTRA (Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists) and it's Independent Production Agreement.Aside from writing and performance I have been lucky enough to gain experience in many fields of the Entertainment Industry. I am an expert in Digital Audio Software and Workstations. Proficient in Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic and so on. I have a vast knowledge of Audio Gear, Microphones and Amplification and how the devices all work together to make great sounding music. I strive to create professional music, sound design, performances and productions that people will enjoy as much as I have enjoyed these same things throughout my life. Specialties: Composing Music, Audio Production and Engineering, Sound Design, Mixing, Project Management, Entertainment Contracts, Production for Film and Television.
