- Airline Pilot operating as a Captain on domestic and regional routes. - Held a managerial position within the Safety Department running the Flight Data Analysis Program. With this position I have been exposed to the critical role that an airline's safety department plays in the continued safe operation. My involvement was within the Flight Data Monitoring Program, which plays a crucial part in ensuring safe operation of the airline’s fleet of aircraft. As manager, this position involved communication with many departments in order to facilitate a reliable flow of flight data. Analysis of data, feedback to various departments, submission of formal reports and presentations required good communication skills, both written and verbal. Due to the highly regulated nature of the industry, I am familiar with the audit process for regulatory framework and compliance. Key responsibilities included:• Establishing and maintaining acquisition and retention of aircraft data that is used to determine acceptable levels of safety performance. • Ensuring accurate input of data into the company online Safety Management System platform. • Escalating Safety Reports as appropriate providing anonymous and de-identified report summaries to the Safety department and Flight Operations Management.• Distributing monthly reports providing feedback to all relevant departmental stakeholders.• Promoting healthy hazard reporting within a “Just Culture” centric environment.• Communicating (both verbally and written) with individuals on sometimes delicate matters.• Responsible for compliance with relevant regulatory authorities.
