About Brett Costanza

I am working as a Geomatics Engineer in the Energy sector for FPLAir. As an experienced Remote Sensing professional, I work extensively with LiDAR, processing data to create Digital Elevation Models, slope maps, contours, and perform feature extraction from LiDAR. Additionally, I am responsible for developing map products, improving and standardizing workflows to ensure specifications are met. I am looking forward to continuing to advance in the field of Geomatics Engineering. I am particularly interested in GIS, Remote Sensing, and LiDAR and hope to do research in the development of new technologies in the field of Geomatics.In December 2023, I received my Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from Florida Atlantic University (FAU). My graduate studies are in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Transportation and Geomatics Engineering. In addition to my graduate degree, I also received Graduate Remote Sensing Certificate. I completed my undergraduate studies in May 2022. I graduated from Florida Atlantic University, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geomatics Engineering. At the beginning of my senior year at FAU I was accepted into the joint Bachelor of Science/Master of Science degree program. While working on my undergraduate and graduate degrees, I was involved in a research project building a portable sensing system using visible, infrared and LiDAR sensors.My academic achievements include Presidents List and Deans List at FAU. At the end of my senior year I was awarded the Faculty Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement and the Faculty Award for Outstanding Academic Leadership from the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatics Engineering. I am a member of Tau Beta Pi (Engineering Honor Society) and Phi Kappa Phi (National Honor Society). I served as the President for the Florida Survey and Mapping Society (FSMS) FAU student chapter for two terms. As president, I worked diligently to increase awareness and enrollment of the FSMS student chapter. During my senior year, while enrolled in my Engineering Technical Capstone class, I was the project manager for the senior design project.
