At Saints, I am a leader of young men inside and outside of the classroom. During my time, I designed interactive, thoughtful curriculum and instruction across 5 subjects for students of all learning styles. Daily lessons were taught using a mixture of hands-on lab activities, real-world applications, current events, personal behavioral analysis, small group work, and gamification. Across all subjects, I utilized Canvas LMS to develop and implement online aspects of my curriculum improving effectiveness of lessons while increasing efficiency of learning. This increased engagement in classroom materials on a regular basis. As a new teacher I was able to create a robotics program for high-performing students during the month of January each year where students would ideate, design, and develop soccer-playing robots controlled through their computers via wireless internet. From November to March each year I led approximately 20 players through a fast-paced and rigorous soccer season as the Junior Varsity soccer coach where competed against the best high school teams in San Diego. Throughout season, it was my job to implement a team culture, develop a team mentality and comradery, while creating and running daily training sessions to reinforce our program's playing style and educate players on their roles within individual positions and the team as a whole. ,

Starting with 6 players at this level in the program in 2016, I was able to develop the age group into 30+ players across two competitive teams through maintaining quality relationships, recruiting parents and players, and implementing a successful and effective coaching style that was approachable for young men. As the assistant coach, my main responsibilities relied on daily set up of the day's training. During training sessions, I provided coaches and players with individual and personalized feedback. Outside of training, I spent time supporting players with individual player development via one-on-one field training sessions, strength and fitness training, or tactical and training reviews. I worked alongside both players and coaches to maintain focus on our team and program goals, maintaining positive team environments, and developing stronger relationships on and off the field.
