Unicorn is a non-profit that raises money and builds communities of acceptance and support for children with special needs, whom are diagnosed with a developmental disorder, such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia, and other Learning Disorders. Reporting to and in partnership with the CEO, I planned, organized, and managed all our major fundraising events from conception to completion and everything in between, as well as all post-related activities such as wrap up meetings, post event marketing (social media, press releases, etc), and all financial and budgetary obligations and reporting requirements for a 501(c)(3). This involved volunteer recruitment, training, and management, venue prospecting and correspondence, vendor coordination and management, and committee development and organization. I served as the primary POC for all internal/external constituencies on all organizational matters, and acted as liaison to the Executive Board, senior leadership, and volunteers. This also involved coordinating executive outreach & external relations efforts and overseeing special projects and networking events. Additionally, I worked to secure financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporations by developing and maintaining ongoing relationships with major donors. I created and executed an annual strategy for developing and growing a large sustained base of annual individual donors, and was responsible for shaping the overall annual fundraising plan. I was very effective in my position, often successfully utilizing technology to streamline processes and make work flow drastically more efficient and organized. My first fiscal year/season resulted in 21% over budgeted revenue and 22% below budgeted expenses for all fundraising endeavors. My second year/season was 12% over budgeted revenue goals and 22% below budgeted expenses, and and my final year/season maintained this trend.

Helping Youth make ethical and moral decisions over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Being an Eagle Scout myself, this was especially rewarding. Facilitated the effective organization, operation, and promotion of the Scouting program representing over 3,000 members and 500 volunteers throughout my District in Palm Beach County. Recruited, trained, and led diverse groups of volunteers to success in program development, budgeting, recruitment and training, special event planning and community relations/PR activities. Collaborated with community and business leaders (CEOs, Mayors, Police Chiefs) to develop multiple annual signature fundraising events, as well as individual donations and grant writing. Mentored front-line volunteers to successfully develop, promote, and execute multiple annual Youth Programs. Finally, successfully strengthened community relationships; built rapport among community leaders which enabled Scouting leadership to work with their respective communities and volunteers successfully.Was very successful in this position, and was able to bridge many gaps between different demographics and conflicting personalities. Was well liked by most everyone I worked with, and more importantly I helped empower Scout leaders towards success in their varied areas by teaching them how to leverage various technological tools. This allowed them to be much more organized and efficient in their endeavors. Also led the charge in implementing updated systems and processes within the Scout Organization that better reflected the use of the Internet, to take better advantage of new tools for a 100 year old organization.

Primary responsibility was to initiate sales calls and other lead generation activities to prospect for new business, and was responsible for arriving at in-home sales appointments in a timely manner and going through the full sales cycle to close new business. Also created and fostered new relationships with prospective clients that lead to positive long term business and referrals. Consistently made monthly sales goals, often exceeding them.

Founded a startup with 2 friends to invent, patent & market a device that solved a major problem with toll transponders. Successfully brought a product to market in 6 months by implementing guerilla marketing techniques to raise product awareness and generate self-sustaining sales. Utilized emerging technologies to completely automate the sales process for online orders, tracking of inventory, printing of mailing labels, and notification of sales, which at the time was groundbreaking. Personal project during my MBA program, and was able to apply entrepreneurial coursework, professor advice, and collegiate resources directly to business operations.
